IMTA alum Jimmy Deshler has been very busy working on an amazing array of projects. According to Kristin Goodrich from the White Bear Press: "So far, the young actor has had three lead roles and three supporting roles in student and independent short films. Most recently he finished filming “Summer,” a coming-of-age story written and directed by award-winning Biola University student Nolan Goff. He’s also landed small guest appearances in “Moises Rules!” on Disney XD and “Hung” on HBO. Deshler appeared in several commercials, including one for HealthEast and Globe University in Minnesota. He’s also modeled for a few print publications, including the covers of a Medtronic brochure and Gopher Sport Catalog.
His appearance in the Eminem “No Love” video featuring Lil Wayne is his most prominent role to date, he said. He remembers waiting three hours to audition, along with dozens of other youths. He didn’t get to meet the rap stars — their portions of the video were filmed at separate times. The video premiered on MTV three months later — Deshler missed it because he was at another audition — but he is among the more than 12 million who’ve now watched it on YouTube.
His road to celebrity started with honors at an International Modeling and Talent Association Competition two years ago. Deshler received offers from several modeling agencies and eventually signed with The Savage Agency, commuting to L.A. for a few jobs before making a permanent move."
